What is dance fitness?

It is just like it sounds. We incorporate a whole bunch of dance modalities into a varied playlist. Each song is pre-choreographed and cued (both verbally and with hand gestures), so you can easily follow along. You are dancing and exercising all at the same time! We demonstrate a low impact and a high impact version of the steps, so you can do the workout in a way that works for you. The songs stay on the playlist for a period of time so you can become comfortable with the steps. You will recognize salsa, swing, Reggaetón, hustle, hip-hop, pop, Latin, country, oldies and so many other genres. And, we take song suggestions!

What if I'm coming to this class with absolutely no prior dance experience?

If you have no dance experience, no worries at all! We welcome clients of all abilities and experience levels. Our group is incredibly encouraging and supportive, and Cindy is fantastic at demonstrating different options for each move. This way, you can always find a variation that feels comfortable for you right now. Plus, she's always happy to offer a little extra individual attention to help you get more comfortable with the steps, cues, and movements. You'll find it's a really welcoming and non-judgmental space to learn and grow!

What if I haven't been exercising regularly – will I still be able to keep up with the demands of this class?

That's absolutely okay! If you haven't been exercising regularly and aren't feeling in top shape right now, that's perfectly alright. In fact, by considering this class, you're already taking a fantastic first step toward wellness and positive life change! Engaging in a fun form of exercise within a supportive community is a wonderful way to ease back into movement and build momentum. We're here to cheer you on every step of the way!

The best way to get started is to sign up for a free class. You can give us a try and see what you think. Cindy will meet with you for a few minutes before class to learn more about your goals and to show you the ropes.

I’m concerned about the impact on my joints. What does the dance floor look like?

The studio floor is a dancer's dream, engineered with your well-being in mind. Think of it as a giant, supportive hug for your joints, designed with incredible shock absorption to cushion twists and turns. You can feel the give beneath your feet, a subtle spring that says, "I've got you." This specialized surface isn't just about comfort; it's a proactive partner in keeping you safe, allowing you to move freely and confidently, knowing that each step is supported. It’s a space built for joyful movement, where you can focus on the fun and let the floor take care of the impact.
